The nose is reminiscent of chocolate, bacon, clove, vanilla and caramel. The very dark and powerful mouthfeel has a complex array of herbs, black cherry jam, black olives and plum characters. The mouthfeel is zesty and supported by a backbone of elevated fruit and spicy tannins.
In the Middle Ages, knights of Burgundy were awarded the Golden Fleece Medallion and honored with the motto: “Pretium laborum non vile”, or “No mean reward for labor”. The Domaine Divio Toison d’Or is our reward for all the hard work.
This very special selection comes from two early-ripening vineyard sites situated in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Bruno saw the potential to hand select the best quality grapes from these vineyards and separate them from the rest to be crafted into their own distinct wine.
