2018 Willamette Valley Pinot Beurot
ALC 12.8% Cases Produced: 100
In tribute to our French heritage, we have named our Pinot Gris, “Beurot” – the traditional Burgundian denomination for the variety. The name is derived from the similarity between the brownish color of the Pinot Gris grape skin, and that of the heavy brown fabric worn by French monks in the Middle Ages, known as a “Bure”.
A sprinkle of Oregon sunshine! The nose is exhilarating with ripe pear, white flowers, wet stone and notes of exotic passion fruit. On the palate it delivers silky and creamy almond paste notes with a fresh lemon zest finish.
Framed by the Coast Range mountains to the west and Cascade Mountains to the east, the Willamette Valley AVA forms a cool-climate growing basin ideally suited for the production of traditional Burgundian varieties. With an array of different soil types and microclimates, the quality and complexity of Willamette Valley wine has garnered a fierce international reputation.
