Wine Info
THE WINE
Dark red color. Intense floral aromas are presented on the nose, slowly evolving into spicy rose notes. The palate is elegant with flavors of leather and black cherry. The finish is laden with spicy mocha and cocoa.
THE AVA
The ancient marine sedimentary soils of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA are some of the oldest in the Willamette Valley. Originally the final destination for the early Oregon Trail pioneers, the district is fast becoming one of the best known Pinot Noir producing areas. The well-drained soils prevent excessive vine growth and result in mouth-filling wines with broad, silky tannins.
ACCOLADES
96 points & Editors’ Choice – Wine Enthusiast
“This wine is a bountiful smorgasbord of spices and sweet-tart fruits. Citrus, apple, peach, berry, cherry and more combine with a dark streak of chocolate. It’s a juicy and delicious wine that may be aged for a decade or longer but may prove irresistible well before. It fades gently, with dark streaks of root beer and cola. Drink through 2032 at least.”
