THE WINE

Dark red color. This wine displays typical Ribbon Ridge terroir aromas of spicy dark cherries and black pepper. The palate brings flavors of dark cassis, leather and tobacco. The finish is complex and spicy with a savory, earthy component to it. Ever present is the sedimentary ocean floor terroir through the texture and aromas of the wine.

THE AVA

Ribbon Ridge AVA is the home of Domaine Divio, selected by winemaker Bruno Corneaux as he believes it offers the best terroir from which to make the perfect Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. From the air it appears as an island that has broken off from surrounding landmasses. Willakenzie marine sedimentary soil is relatively uniform throughout the AVA and the lack of underground water limits vigorous vine growth.
