THE WINE
Deep red color with dark black hues. The nose is a beautiful expression of our clay soils with aromas of freshly molded wet clay, enhanced by secondary notes of mint, bacon, roasted nuts, rustic spices, cigar box, black tea and rose petals. The palate displays lively plum, sweet spice, cola and blackcurrant, all set on lingering tannins with citrus notes on the luxurious finish.
THE AVA
Ribbon Ridge AVA is the home of Domaine Divio, selected by winemaker Bruno Corneaux as he believes it offers the best terroir from which to make the perfect Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. From the air it appears as an island that has broken off from surrounding landmasses. Willakenzie marine sedimentary soil is relatively uniform throughout the AVA and the lack of underground water limits vigorous vine growth.
